Mission Statement:
"The GRP is dedicated to creating common ground wherein all people can effect social, environmental and economic change through the reconsumption of our resources."
The Project does this by receiving, holding and redistributing the entire resource stream you currently identify as;
- Unwanted stuff, bags of clothes, boxes of free market stuff.
- Thrift, garage sale and re-purposable items.
- Recyclables and returnables.
- Overstock and outdated items.
- All the resulting products of our consumerism .
- Everything in our landfills.
As well we include all the good reconsumables in back alleys, car ports, garages, storage sheds and abandoned on properties. The resources we refer to also include the hundreds of vehicles per day that are accessing the current system of landfills, eco stations and back alley garbage bins.
The alternative we are offering with the new Reconsume Centers and Pass-it-on Surplus events is the resources are made available back to the community instead of being discarded or destroyed. No more stuff to the landfills. We all know this is a required change and together with the GRP this change will happen in our lifespans.
The Global Reconsume Project will receive these reconsumables at our new concept Reconsume Centers and through Pass-it-on Surplus events, where you will be able to pay it forward by creating common ground at the same time cleaning up the planet we all love.
Reconsume Centers act as hubs, meeting places for the community to have access to the resource in a clean safe environment where items will be available for free in the surplus areas.
Other services offered at the reconsume centers will be available at our counter services which will give you access to:
- Pre-tested electronics, computers, printers, misc cables
- Dismantled parts, from appliances, furniture, home repair, automotive.
- GRP internet services, find where things are in your community, learn how to dismantle or repair things.
- A good cup of coffee or a sandwich
All remaining items will become part of our inventory and will be reprocessed on going by the GRP until all items are completely reconsumed without harm to the us or the planet
This is a grass roots project, it is quadruple bottom line successful, by the people for the people, with an abundance modal mentality.
